His research interests encompass seafarers’ pedagogical competence, intergenerational learning, and pedagogical leadership.

Doctor of pedagogy (UL, 2012), elected expert at the Latvian Council of Science (2014-2017), elected member of network “Leadership and quality of education” and co-convenor of ECER network 11 (Quality of Education).
