Letnina Zadorozhna-Knyagnitska was born in Glukhov, Ukraine. She studied at Glukhov pedagogical University, where she studied pedagogy and methods of primary education and obtained her degree in 1988. She defended the dissertation of the candidate of sciences in 2000, defended the dissertation of the doctor of sciences in 2018.
