burial, burial traditions, cemetery

Burial traditions are an integral part of society. The evolution of burial traditions from ancient times to the present day is a phenomenon worth exploring, providing important information about the beginnings of burial traditions and their changes to the present day. From a health and safety point of view, burial cannot be left to its own devices, so from the very beginning of burial, countries have established a legal framework that provides for burial procedures. In Latvia, the establishment and maintenance of cemeteries is not regulated at the state level. Thus, each local government, at its own discretion, develops binding regulations that differ in the range and detail of regulated issues. The article analyses the legal understanding of burial and the historical development of its tradition.
