THE CONCEPT OF MILIRATY MEDICINE AND IT’S HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT

The subject of the article is the concept of military medicine and it’s historical development. The author offers the basic features of the concept of military medicine and explains the development and strengthening of the idea of military medicine from a historical perspective. Caring for the wounded has been common since ancient times, but the strengthening of organized and structured medical care in war conditions can only be seen in the 19th century. In the current geopolitical situation, when active or less active warfare’s are taking place in several countries of the world, the strengthening of the concept of military medicine in the normative regulation has acquired an important role not only at the international, but also at the national level. The aim of the work is to analyse the basic characteristics of the concept of military medicine and the dynamics of the development of its historical idea and propose amendments in the existing normative regulation.
